Flexo Backup is a personal, owner-operated backup utility. This policy describes its intended operation and Google user-data handling.
Data accessed and purpose
The local program uses Google Drive authorization through rclone to locate its configured backup folder, read file identifiers, ownership, permissions, sizes and checksums, upload selected Git backup archives, and download those archives for integrity checks. The Google Drive scope can grant broader account access than the folder used by the program.
Storage and sharing
Backup archives are stored on the owner’s computer and in the owner’s selected Google Drive folder. Local verification records contain checkpoint identifiers, file identifiers, sizes, hashes and timestamps. OAuth client credentials and refresh tokens are held in private local credential storage, outside repositories and backup archives.
The utility does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or transfer it to AI providers for training or inference. Its backup execution uses ordinary local code and rclone, with separately authorized Google Drive and Proton Drive connections. This public website does not receive credentials, Drive files or backup records.
Optional Proton replica
When enabled by the owner, the same archive created locally from Git is also uploaded directly to the owner’s selected Proton Drive folder using Proton’s official CLI. Proton sign-in is separate, and its session is stored in the native OS credential store. Google OAuth credentials and Google Drive API metadata are not included in this replica. The Proton copy is independently downloaded and checked against the local archive.
Retention and deletion
Existing backup checkpoints are retained until the owner removes them. The utility does not automatically delete older Drive backups. The owner can delete local archives and records, Drive backup files, and local credentials using the corresponding local, Google Drive or Proton Drive controls.
Revoke access
The owner can revoke Flexo Backup’s authorization in Google Account connections. Revocation stops future authorized operations but does not delete files already stored. The backup program needs new authorization before it can operate again.
The official Proton Drive CLI can be signed out separately. Existing Proton backup files remain until the owner deletes them.
